Innovating Stadium Design: A Football Fanatic's Dream

Introduction:

Born out of a passion for football, this stadium in Brussels is a testament to architectural prowess and unwavering dedication. Months of meticulous development were invested to ensure the project embodied both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The structure itself is a paragon of sustainability, utilizing concrete infused with industrial waste for added resilience and panels woven from recycled fibers.




The Journey of Creation:

The stadium's initial form took shape through a process of sculpting layers around the z-axis, a crucial step in the development journey.

Engineering Precision:

Columns of precise thickness were strategically positioned to support the risers, meticulously aligning with the underlying beams. This precision was achieved through a well-crafted design algorithm.



A Substructure of Promise:

The creation of a substructure to secure the panels, offset from the original concrete structure, was a pivotal task. Employing a Voronoi function ensured a flawless division that adhered to the design's specified pattern.

Risers, Roof, and Façade:

With the substructure in place, risers were integrated along with an alternating roof structure, interconnected seamlessly with the façade seams.




Seating Arrangements:

The challenge of placing individual chairs was met with ingenuity, leveraging parameters for lines within Dynamo. The result was an array of seating that met the project's initial constraints.



Façade Dynamics:

Façade panels, engineered to open in a singular direction, demonstrated a remarkable flexibility due to the building's underlying geometry.





Navigating Challenges:

The journey was not without its hurdles. A surplus of chairs necessitated a reduction in instances, a task executed with precision.




A Turning Point:

An unforeseen challenge emerged when all chairs initially faced in one direction. A eureka moment came when a Dynamo code was devised, expertly rotating the chairs towards the center of the stadium.




A Triumph in Rotation:

The final code resolved the chair orientation, aligning them towards the heart of the stadium. This breakthrough demonstrated the power of innovative problem-solving.





The Art of Rendering:

The culmination of these efforts led to stunning renders, showcasing the seamless synergy between geometry and BIM.




A Modular Vision:

The inclusion of a tennis court underscored the stadium's adaptability, its modular flooring poised to host an array of sports and entertainment events.
