Evolving Concepts: Generative Design and Morphing Explorations

Introduction:

In the evolution of this project, the focus shifts towards a mass additive generative design that manipulates rectangles along three axes, both virtually and physically. The volumes depicted below illustrate the optimal configuration, maximizing Built-Up Area while limiting the decrease in height to a mere eight floors from the highest peak to the second lowest level.

Unraveling the Code:

Here lies the code that brings the aforementioned study to life. It's elegantly simple, creating points with the ability to be finely tuned along their x and y-axes. Each shape is treated individually, accounting for height, width, and depth. The union of these solids unlocks crucial insights, offering feedback on floor area, surface area, volume, and opportunities for further refinement.

Delving into Generative Design:

The study presented above exemplifies the essence of #generativedesign, where myriad layers of solutions are explored and optimized to yield the desired outcomes. Notably, the grey filters signify our selection of 85 meters on the "B1-Height" column, translating to 25 floors at a height of 3.4 meters per floor. This aligns seamlessly with our earlier projections from Part I, promising a tower that echoes the characteristics of our massing study in terms of height, terraced geometry, and meticulous optimization. A morphing diagram will further refine the facade features in the concluding stages.

Morphing Vision:

Behold, a glimpse into what the morphed shape may potentially embody.

A Journey of Innovation:

This phase of the project has been a source of immense satisfaction. The opportunity to engage with a multitude of generative tools for a singular project has been truly enriching. Anticipate more such endeavors on the horizon. I trust you found today's blog a stimulating read.
